As North Tahoe Residents, we all need to get behind this effort and take back local control of our area and specific issues. We live in a very unique area but are governed by an area that has no idea or interest in our unique needs. Eastern Placer County is nothing like the rest of Placer County and we need to have local control over our specific and unique issues. It is our duty to get educated and get behind this effort so that we can make North Tahoe the amazing town that it should be!

It's time for local governance in North Tahoe. Our home is too special and has too many unique needs and considerations not to have those who live and work here making decisions about our collective future. Join us in this next chapter of forming the Town of North Tahoe!

I support the effort to incorporate North Tahoe. Our region has unique needs that are fueled by tourism, seasonal demand swings, and often challenging winter conditions. At the same time, it’s important to strike a balance between the increasing popularity of the Lake Tahoe area and how that translates into the experience of being here (whether that be as a visitor or full time resident). With the increasing growth of Western Placer County (Roseville, Rocklin, Loomis areas), much of the county’s attention is focused on how to best support that growth. Now more than ever, we need local representation that can be solely focused on decisions that impact our local community, support our businesses, protect our environment, and ensure a positive and healthy experience for all who visit the area.

I support North Tahoe Incorporation because we deserve local decision making for local issues.

If you look not too far into the future, our region will lose its supervisor. It is unrealistic to believe that the future District 5 supervisor will know our priorities as well as the residents do. It is time that decision making becomes a local priority.

I completely support the movement to explore the incorporation of North Tahoe. It's important to have local representation to address the current requirements of our area and to guide the future of our town.

I’ve worked in the North Tahoe region for over 20 years and believe our community requires a unique and informed approach to governance and leadership. Incorporate North Tahoe offers a pathway to ensure the community is led by those who understand the community context and our deep-seated connection to the lake and surrounding environment. Each time the US census is completed, North Tahoe’s voice is diluted when county district boundaries are redrawn to account for growth in Roseville, Rocklin and other parts Placer County. As a former county employee, I’ve tracked meetings where District 5’s boundaries were expanded to include larger portions of Auburn. The implications were clear. The majority of voters are not in Tahoe and likely never will be. Every 10 years, local voting power is further diluted. The time is right to move this initiative forward to ensure the North Tahoe community has a say in its own future.

I strongly support this effort to assess whether creating a town of North Tahoe will improve the community’s ability to deal with the unique challenges and opportunities of this extraordinary place.

I support the effort to explore incorporation whether we become a town or not.

The time is ripe to explore whether forming a local government would provide greater control, resources, and better reflect our communities needs than our current model provides. Whether or not we become a town, I believe that the data that we will get through the process will serve us to better advocate for resources with the county.

The prospect of local control and autonomy is very appealing. I feel confident that the Incorporate Lake Tahoe team is moving in an exciting and positive direction

I support the effort exploring incorporation because I believe the time has come for the North Tahoe region to have a locally-elected body making the key decisions that are shaping the future of our community.

North Lake Tahoe is a strong and vibrant community. Those who live here love it and want to do our part to maintain and govern it. There are growing populations in both Placer county and Reno that want to come to enjoy the splendor of this incredible place. We need the ability to self-govern - partially to mitigate the effects of growing tourism, but also to create the community and future we want to see. We hope to continue to collaborate with our county partners, and to do our fair share of the work that is required to. maintain this incredible community and environment. Together we want shape the future of our community - through local visioning, governance, and accountability. Incorporation will give us the opportunity to do that.

At the end of the day, incorporation isn’t really about government. It’s about stewardship. We already take responsibility for our trails, our forests, our neighborhoods, our nonprofits, and our community organizations. The question before us is whether we’re willing to take greater responsibility for governing ourselves as well.

I endorse the effort because I believe in stronger towns and that takes local control.

I've called North Tahoe home for more than 35 years. I've watched our community grow and change, and too often we've lacked the local authority to address the challenges that affect our daily lives. I support exploring incorporation because I believe the people who live and work here should have a strong voice in shaping our future. Most of all, I want to do everything I can to help ensure that our children and grandchildren have the opportunity to live, work, and build their own lives here if they choose.

Our family supports Eastern Placer Future because we believe that local decisions should be made by the people who live here, not by distant county officials. We’re excited about the potential for tailored services, better stewardship of local revenue, and a stronger community voice.

I fully support this investigation into the potential for incorporation. Whether we ultimately vote to incorporate or not, what we learn here will be extremely useful to us in the future.
